LET’S EAT! *Up up here we go*

-Juno Ciruela

It is an old house converted to a cafe/restaurant located in Calumpang in Marikina, to get there you need to ride a jeepney about 5 to 10 minutes.

The food may be expensive but it’s worth it. The price range of the pastas are about a hundred to hundred twenty pesos, and pizzas cost a hundred and fifty to two hundred fifty. My family goes there every Sunday and order the same food but the food doesn’t lose the “tickle your taste buds” factor. They also have different kinds of cakes, like the old fashioned chocolate cake, sansrival and more. If you would go there with somebody or a couple Php500 is already enough to feed your hungry stomach, and get your “Feels like heaven” moment!

All in all, your satisfaction is certain and i assure you that the recipes here will make you come back for more.

Exceedingly Enchanted Kingdom by Rap Pelayo

An hour drive off the edge of Metro Manila lies a place where fun and magic come alive; filled with adrenaline-pumping rides, appetizing food and entertaining attractions, this is the ultimate tourist destination that brings out new experiences for both the young and old at a very reasonable price.

Driving at a world class highway, the South Luzon Expressway or SLEX will be you route towards Enchanted Kingdom but it is hardly noticeable for the road is so well built that while traveling, you will feel light as a feather. Before entering, visitors will pay five hundred pesos which is worth it for the things that are in stored for them. Rides, wet or dry, will give riders a heart pounding experience that you cannot find anywhere else. For those hungry patrons, they could get their sweet tooth pleased with the very soft, freshly fried miniature doughnuts, cotton candy and their very unique ice based dessert. And finally, while resting from all the walking and riding, people can watch the magicians and street performers that would be glad to entertain the visitors who had a big day.

So ladies and gentlemen, boy and girls, come on, come all, Enchanted Kingdom is the place to be this summer. It will overcome all expectations so buckle up and enjoy the ride.

White Sand Wonderland by Sherries Enriquez

Boracay

Want to have some fun under the sun? Then come here in Boracay where you can frolic on the cool white sand. Enjoy yourself with the different activities and tan all you want near the beach waves. You can also take a break from the modern world and relax yourself here.
Boracay is located in Calibo, Aklan. The traveling time from Manila to Boracay is forty-five minutes via airplane; three days by ship. As the sand gets through my flip flops, I get the thirst for adventure.

You don’t actually have to go to California to rest on amazing palm trees or to be warm, wet, and wild; you just need to be fine, fresh, fierce and you’re ready to dip yourself in the clear blue waters of Boracay beach.

Parasailing, Banana boating, sand castle making, beach volleyball, clubbing, snorkeling, underwater picture taking- these are just some of the fun activities! You can do on the shores of Boracay. When you can’t take the fun anymore, you can rest in the shoreline hotels and have a relaxing massage.

Yummy! That’s how I describe the food in Boracay with their mouthwatering and tempting seafoods. I will surely ruin my beach body diet here.
Tired of your old sun dress and accessories? Revamp your closet with Boracay wardrobe from the colorful boutiques here. Henna, the best souvenir you can get from this place has many different designs, you can even personalize your own to make it even more special.

Don’t just sit there, what are you waiting for? Come here and go all out enjoying yourself buried in white sand in this breathtaking wonderland called Boracay.

Bohol: Philippines at Its Finest by Genedine del Castillo

Want to feel relaxed and explore the beauty of nature with your friends or family? Well, I know just the place to go to – BOHOL!!!

Bohol lies on the Eastern part of Visayas. A few hours of a plane ride or a few days of riding on a boat are the estimated time you’ll consume in travelling.

Let me tell you some of the places that I have luckily been to during my three days’ stay in the lands of Tagbilaran, the capital of Bohol.

Our first stop is the very historical Chocolate Hills. It takes about more than two hundred steps to go up a hill. The journey to the hill will be exhausting and tiring, but it will be nothing compared to the feeling that you will feel while seeing the amazing view of the Chocolate Hills. It was thrilling to see the creation that God gave to the Boholanos to preserve and at the same time to be proud of.

The next stop is the Loboc River. The journey in this river starts on a small canoe made of bamboos. You’ll be mesmerized with the view and the breeze of the wind that blows unto your skin while eating a very mouth-watering buffet prepared on the boat. Before you reach the end of the river that has a small waterfall, the Boholanos will prepare for you a cultural dance. You will have fun watching them and you will be proud to be a Filipino as you see the talented group of Boholanos perform their very creative dance.

Lastly, I will talk to you about the Tarsiers! They are little, cute animals that are taken care of by the Boholanos. Don’t take pictures of them with your camera’s flash turned on! The tarsiers might get stressed and might die because of this flash. Know more about the endearing Philippine Tarsier and find out how you can help save these endangered species by visiting them in Bohol.

Besides these tourists’ destinations, there are also a lot more activities offered by Bohol. AUV riding, visiting the very historical Baclayon Church, scuba diving, island hopping, snorkeling and watching playful dolphins are just some of the fun activities that you can do with your limited budget. Little children will also have fun making sand castles because of Bohol’s white sand.

Bohol is really one of the best places that the Philippines could be really proud of. There are many more activities you can do in this place, and you will never regret spending your cash for this wonderland. So what are you waiting for? Come and see the beauty that Bohol will bring you as an escape from the stress the urban zone gives you.

The Philippine Military Academy by: Nicole Diaz

Philippine Military Academy

The Philippine Military Academy in Baguio will definitely take your breath away, with it’s vintage and modern artillery, museums and eco-freindly and locally made souvenirs for all ages.

To start off, let’s talk about how to get there. Since it’s located in Baguio, you can get there via plane and car or just car alone. When you get there, there are a lot of things to do. The first thing I would recommend is to visit the tanks because they are near the parking lot. Next, while you’re walking along the streets, you may come across some statues and real soldiers as well as the vintage and modern aircrafts. Then you will see a huge tree house and some cabanas. While you are walking, it is advisable to keep your voices down, for the privates are taking their classes.

Next, you will see the museums. In them are some of the uniforms used by old soldiers and the ones they are currently using. You would also see some of the different types of artilleries they used back then. When you finish the tour of the museum, you will see a small figure of the Spanish-Philippine War. From there onwards, you will see some of the statues again. The final stop would be the souvenir stores, where you can buy everything from food to apparel, and other little things that would remind you of your visit there.

So what are you waiting for? Come and visit the Philippine Military Academy and see where hereos are molded and immortalized.

A Place Called QC by Jazz Baculi

Situated at the heart of Metro Manila, Quezon City will welcome you to its famous sights and sounds, endulge you with their famous dishes, and fill your hearts with delight as you enter their malls.

Quezon City has been divided to fourteen sub-divisions/districts. These are Diliman, Commonwealth Ave., Tandang Sora, Loyola Heights, Cubao, Bagumbayan, Timog Area, Novaliches, New Manila, Sta. Mesa Heights, San Fransisco Del Monte, Galas-Santol, The Project Areas and La Loma.

The city features a tropical monsoon climate with a short dry season and a prolonged wet season. Well, majority of the climate of the whole year is wet season. So you’re going to need an umbrella if you’re en route here in the month of May to December.

Come on down here! Wehave a lot of surprises in store for you here, in QC.

IT CAPTURED MY HEART J

Loving someone give us inspiration and strength. We all fall in love with someone but in my case I fell deeply in love somewhere. It’s quite far away where you can find peace, comfort, and lots of adventure. It stole my heart and I wish to get it back. But I can’t because it’s hard to resist its natural and charming beauty.

Located at Subic, a mesmerizing place called Olonggapo has stolen my heart. Olonggapo is 150 km away from Manila. To get there you need to go to NLEX, pass SCTEX and enter Subic Freeport. Using a car is easier but you can also travel by bus.

There are different kinds of resort in Olonggapo that is suitable for your budget. Lots of activities and rides are waiting for you. You can ride banana boat and rubber boat where you can experience a fast and very bumpy ride. This one is a heck of a ride so don’t forget to hold on tight. After riding this boats be sure to rent a yacht. When you ride the yacht, you will see different shores, houses that are like a mansion and mountains with different shapes and sizes. You can also get near a gigantic shipping boat and even see a huge boat that was being built in an auction. It’s not quite expensive to rent a yacht but it is worth it because this may highlight your vacation.

Grilled foods are the best when you are in vacation. Fresh sea foods from sea are mouth-watering when grilled. When you are near to the sea and far away from the city, fresh sea foods are cheap. You can also bring packed food if you don’t like buying and if you want to save your budget.

All of the expenses for one person are only P3000 for 2 days. I bet this is worth it because nothing else can be compare in the adrenaline rush of running to the beach after you reach the resort and feel the fresh and warm breeze of the wind. And take a deep breathe and feel relieve that you never felt before.

Come and stay to Olonggapo to experience all of these things and fall in love by its undying beauty. Always remember to give time to yourself and search for an adventure and place that you can truly love. Be careful, it might capture your heart also.
